About Maniac Lab
Maniac Lab makes Maniac OS and the apps that run on it. It is the work of one developer, Georgios Charilaou, in Limassol, Cyprus.
What we make
Maniac OS is a free desktop operating system for ordinary 64-bit PCs. It is built on an Ubuntu 24.04 base and the Linux kernel, for wide hardware support, with its own desktop, window manager, menu bar, Dock and built-in apps on top.
Next to it we make professional apps that you buy once: Maniac Cut for video, Maniac Draw for illustration and layout, Maniac Pixel for image editing, Maniac Darkroom for photo libraries, and Clinic for medical practices.
Why
A computer should feel calm, clear and consistent — and getting there shouldn’t mean buying a new PC or paying every month. Maniac OS gives the PC you already own a clean desktop for free, and the apps offer serious tools at a fair, one-time price.
How we work
- One-time prices. No subscriptions. You buy an app once and use it on up to 5 of your PCs.
- As little data as possible. No advertising and no tracking on this site. Maniac OS needs no account, and your files stay on your PC.
- Your data stays yours. Clinic keeps patient records, encrypted, on the practice’s own PC; we never see them.
- A real person answers. Mail to support@maniaclab.app is read and answered by the person who makes the software.
